Discover what makes this building so unique and learn more about the immense power of the Khmer Kingdom at the peak of its influence in Southeast Asia.

    Stop 2: Local village

It’s hard to imagine for most tourists, but many people still live in villages surrounding Angkor Wat. You will get a real insight into everyday life. Learn about traditional palm leaf architecture and find out why Cambodian houses are built on stilts.

Stop 3: South Gate of Angkor Thom

Experience the impressive, well preserved south gate of the former Khmer capital, Angkor Thom. See the huge defense walls, get to know what ‘Angkor Thom‘ really means, take a closer look at the moat and the unique bridge and listen to the story of the monumental building. You weren’t aware of the former function of the South Gate? Listen to our tour guide and you’ll soon learn more!

    Stop 4: Prasat Chrung

After taking a nice ride on the massive wall of Angkor Thom you‘ll discover a small, lonely temple in the southwestern corner  of the Angkor Thom Wall. Learn about the history of the temple and enjoy the incredible view on the moat of Angkor Thom and the surrounding countryside. During the Angkor Off Road Tour you will get a deep impression of everyday life in ancient Cambodia and plunge into the fascinating history.

Stop 5: West Gate of Angkor Thom

The West Gate of Angkor Thom is marked by its old, rather ruinous look. Experience the uniqueness of this old monument, take a look around and discover the difference between this gate and the Southern one. Due to the small number of tourists exploring the West gate of Angkor Thom it is nearly completely preserved in its original condition.

    Stop 6: Bayon Temple

Located directly in the center of Angkor Thom Bayon is one of the essential temples to visit. Once built as the state temple of the former king Javayarman VII, Bayon has now become one of the main tourist attractions of the Angkor Archeological Park. Find out about the reliefs and unique architecture of the temple that is best known today for its gigantic face sculptures.

    Stop 7: Lunch

After having seen different temples we will have lunch at our favorite restaurant together. Our tour guides are happy to recommend some typical Khmer meals for you.
You will also get a discount on your meal.

    Stop 8: Preah Khan Temple

Cycling along hidden dirt paths in the jungle of Angkor, we will reach Preah Khan. This lesser known temple which used to be a sizable university has hardly been restored therefore remaining in much the same condition in which it was found: trees growing out of the ruins and hidden rooms guarantee an extraordinary experience.

    Stop 9: Ta Nei Temple

After cycling even deeper into the Cambodian jungle, we will arrive at Ta Nei, a hidden gem that is rarely visited by other tourists. You will have time to explore this smaller temple and stroll undisturbed along the original walls while listening to the sound of cicadas.

    Stop 10: Ta Keo Temple

Our final stop will be at Ta Keo, a temple even bigger than Bayon, but definitely less crowded. Find out why the construction of this temple was never completed. Walk up the steep stairs and take a moment to enjoy the view over the surrounding jungle before cycling back to our office on the crowded streets of Siem Reap.
