We are Khmer for Khmer organisation
We are a Cambodian non-governmental organisation providing sustainable education to disadvantaged children and young adults.
Our lovely school is located in the rural area of Chreav Commune, Siem Reap, where we teach 300 students in English.
Founded in 2009 we rely on 15 years of experience in teaching and guarantee a high-quality English education.
But we are more than just an English school: We empower our pupils, trainees and staff in confidence, creativity and openness to create courage, independence and opportunities in their lives.
All our teachers are Cambodian and trained by ourselves. We are passionate about what we do, because we love learning.
Vision
Empowering rural children and young women in Cambodia to build their future and transform their communities through education.
Mission
“Two programs, one mission: Breaking barriers for rural Cambodian youth through English education and for women through empowerment spaces that foster confidence, critical thinking, and collective change.“
At KKO, Cambodians hold leadership roles across the organization, supported by skilled international volunteers who bring expertise in teaching methods, marketing, and fundraising. Together, we build skills, foster independence, and create lasting change for our community.
English classes for children
KKO offers high-quality English classes to rural Cambodian children aged 6-18.
With limited English education in state schools, our tailored curriculum and small class sizes ensure effective learning.
We empower students with essential language skills to unlock new opportunities for their future.
That’s what we do and we like to do it the best we can, we just need your help

Meet Phary: Founder of KKO
“I’ve always believed in the power of learning—from my team, my students, my business partners, and our international volunteers
Embracing new perspectives, challenging habits, and constantly improving myself are at the heart of what I do
I’m passionate about sharing this knowledge with my staff, students, and volunteers, and it’s this spirit of growth and collaboration that drives everyone at KKO.”
Meet Markus: Co-founder of KKO
“Before founding KKO, I worked with many small organizations in Cambodia through the German weltwärts program.
I noticed that most organizations were led by foreign management, with Cambodians in supporting roles.
This inspired me to create KKO with a different vision: Cambodians leading at every level, from management to teaching.
That’s why we’re called Khmer for Khmer—a mission to empower Cambodians to learn from each other and pass on knowledge within their community.”
